SciDBMaker
: SciDBMaker is stand-alone software that allows the extraction of protein data from the Swiss-Prot database, sequence analysis comprising physicochemical profile calculations, homologous sequences search, multiple sequence alignments and the building of new and more specialized databases.

Classification scheme
Classic
Structure-based
NOTE: Classification problematics
The Classification of bacteriocins in general has been problematic (
Marco et al., 2000
) and the present criteria chosen for classification seem incoherent and inadequate (
Dzung et al., 2002
). Some bacteriocins were classified in different classes according this classification. Hidden Markov Models integrated can be used automatically to determine the most probably appurtenance of the different peptides of our data base in identified classes cited. We note that we are developing an enhanced bacteriocins classification and the project will be available soon.
